Over 2,000 people affected by Dengue in Bengal

There were no reports of any Dengue deaths in the state today even as the number of people infected with the vector-borne disease in West Bengal in the last 24 hours crossed the 2,000 mark with 283 more new cases being reported.
According to state Director of Health Services Biswaranjan Satpathy, the new cases were reported from different districts of the state, taking the total number of persons infected by Dengue to 2,170.
"There are no reports of any deaths because of Dengue in the last 24 hours from anywhere of the state," Satpathy said.
Most cases were reported from Hooghly district's Serampore and North 24-Parganas district, while there were some cases in Malda, Nadia, Darjeeling, and South 24-Parganas districts, he said.

Till now 14 people have died in West Bengal due to the vector-borne disease.
