Over 200 cartons of smuggled liquor seized in poll-bound UP

Police today arrested one person and seized 202 cartons of smuggled liquor in Bhandura village here ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided an area in forest and seized 202 cartons of smuggled liquor, Senior Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarnagar Bablu Kumar said, adding that six vehicles, four arms including two rifles and a huge cache of cartridges were also recovered.
One person was arrested while four others including one Gurmit Singh managed to escape, he said.
A case was registered and search was on to nab the culprits.
