Over 24,000 cops to be deployed for Krishna Pushkaram: AP DGP

In-Charge Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh Nanduri Sambasiva Rao today said more than 24,000 police personnels would be deployed for the security and smooth conduct of Krishna Pushkaram from August 12 to 23.
The DGP held a review meeting with police officers from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts today.
Taking lessons from last year's stampede on the opening day of Godavari Pushkaram, policemen would be deployed, he said.
Nearly three crore people are expected to attend Krishna Pushkaram during the 12 days of the event.
