Around 3,500 institutions have come under a domestic ranking mechanism launched by HRD ministry that will be available to students and parents by April, which makes it the largest of its kind, officials said today.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings will be available to students and parents by April, it is expected.
"With over 3,500 institutions, the NIRF is already bigger than international ranking surveys," a senior HRD ministry official told reporters.
The official also said that the UGC has formulated several details relating to appointment of vice chancellors.
Asked on the status of the changes proposed in the 'No Detention' policy for school children, the official said that since examinations are on, it would be better not to speak about the issue.
