After surveying 10 major slums in and around pink city, the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) today recommended Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) to improve the life of slum dwellers by providing basic amenities and potable water.
PRIA in its survey found that over 35,000 people in the slums of Jaipur needed the right to land, proper sanitation, and potable water supply, its Program Officer Anshu Singh told reporters here.
PRIA was dealing with issues the of urban poverty, and studied the lives of people living in 10 slums, including Baiji-Ki-Kothi-A & B, Jhalana Kunda Mahal, Ambedkar, Manoharpura and RIICO Kachi Basti, she said.
Besides this, JMC shall do regular monitoring of sanitation drive, and supply of potable water to thousands of people who are fetching it from other water sources, she added.
