Over 6,000 people participate in Jamshedpur Run-a-thon

Over 6000 people including Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran today took part in the annual Jamshedpur Run-a-thon that started from Archery Ground of JRD Tata Sports complex here.
Organised by Tata Steel, Jamshedpur Run-a-thon comprised of three categories of races.
The 10-km and 7-km races were open to all, while the 5-km run was for under-16 boys and girls.
Ranjeet Kumar Patel (Jamshedpur) won the 10-km race with a time of 31 minutes 29 seconds. He received Rs 51,000 as prize money.
Pardeep Kumar (Ranikhet) was the winner in the 7-km finishing the race in 22 minutes 14 seconds. He received Rs 25,000 as prize money.
On the occasion, Tata Steel-owned Jamshedpur Football Club, the new entrant in the 4th edition of Indian Super League commencing from November 17, has launched ticket sales for their maiden season in front of 6000 runners.

Speaking on the occasion Narendran said "The Tata Group has a rich legacy in football in the country with the Tata Football Academy (TFA).
"TFA has in its lifetime produced players who have represented India at the international level. After having been involved in football for such a long time, launching a team in the ISL was the logical progression for us, and with the ticket launch today, we are one step closer to that goal".
Players of the Jamshedpur FC team, its head coach Steve Coppell as well as its official were also present on the occasion.
Jamshedpur FC will play its first match at home ground at JRD Tata Sports complex here against defending champion ATK, Kolkata on December 1.
