"About 600 to 700 people have been shifted from their border hamlets to safer places in view of the fear triggered by shelling by Pakistan in areas in Jammu and Samba district," Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shant Manu said.
They have been housed in community centres at places out of the shelling range and are being provided with other facilities, he said.
"It is not a mass migration triggered by Pakistan shelling, but a mere shifting from the villages in view of the panic," he said.
