Over 61.75 lakh tonnes of wheat arrive in Haryana

In Haryana, more than 61.75 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived so far in various mandis during the current procurement season.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said whereas the government agencies have procured 61.73 lakh tonnes of wheat, trader have purchased 1964 tonnes of the grain.
He said that HAFED has purchased the highest 23.64 lakh tonnes of wheat followed by 17.24 lakh tonnes purchased by Food and Supplies Department.
Similarly, Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 5.49 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 6.10 lakh tonnes, CONFED 1.53 lakh MT and Food Corporation of India 7.71 lakh tonnes of wheat during current procurement season so far.
He said that district Sirsa is leading in the wheat arrival where 8.56 lakh tonnes of the grain has arrived in the mandis, followed by Karnal with 6.45 lakh tonnes.
He said that farmers have been asked to bring dry and properly cleaned wheat in the mandis so that they don't face difficulties while selling their produce.
