"The Department of Expenditure has informed that during 2016-17 (i.E till March 31, 2017), 7,903 posts at various levels in ministries/departments/autonomous bodies or attached offices (including defence personnel, central paramilitary forces, hospitals, schools etc.) have been created," Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.
As regards the all India services, including IAS and IPS, the Centre every five years re-examined the strength and composition of each cadre, in consultation with the state government concerned, and made such alterations therein as it deemed fit, he added.
