In a midnight swoop after a tip-off, the city police arrested 75 history-sheeters at gun-point after raiding a birthday party of a dreaded gangster, who, however, managed to escape with a few others, police said.
The rowdies, wanted in connection with several cases, including murder, were arrested on the city outskirts in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday after a history- sheeter spilled the beans, they said.
During questioning, he told police personnel that he was on his way to the birthday bash of Binu, wanted in cases, including alleged extortion, they added.
The images from the 'gala event' showed Binu cutting a cake with a machete, the police said.

The police personnel went in private vehicles to avoid detection. The revellers were caught off-guard on seeing the policemen and tried to flee the spot.
