Over 73 lakh tonnes wheat arrives in Haryana

More than 73.62 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis of Haryana till yesterday.
Out of the total arrived wheat, the five government procuring agencies have purchased over 73.55 lakh tonnes and traders have purchased 6,854 tonnes of wheat at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis.
Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 18.21 lakh tommes of wheat has been procured by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, whereas HAFED has purchased more than 26.59 lakh tonnes of wheat.
He said the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has purchased more than 8.59 lakh tonnes of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 6.75 lakh tonnes and over 13.40 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation.
He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 10.72 lakh tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis.
