Overcast conditions coupled with traces of rains and icy winds added to the winter chill in the national capital today as the maximum temperature dipped to 17.5 degrees Celsius.
"The city received traces of rains in Lodhi Road and Ridge areas," said a MeT official.
The day temperature was recorded four notches below the season's average while the minimum settled two notches above the normal at 9.5 degrees Celsius.
The MeT predicted possibility of one or two spells of light rains or thundershowers tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. One or two spells of light rain and thundershowers may occur in some areas. There will be shallow fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 17 and 10 degrees Celsius," a MeT official said.
The Humidity in air today oscillated between 90 and 62 per cent.
Moderate foggy conditions were witnessed in morning due to which three trains were cancelled, 20 were rescheduled and 40 trains are running late by several hours.
Flight operations by and large were smooth at the Delhi airport, officials said.
