Overhead wire snaps, electrocutes two to death

Two persons were electrocuted to death today while three others received serious injuries when they came in contact with a live overhead wire at a village about 30 km off the city, police said.
The victims, Ram Baran, 45, and Malit Devi, 48, had come in contact with the overhead wire that had snapped and fallen on the ground while they were going to relieve themselves, Uttaraon police station in-charge G S Yadav said.
Yadav said two middle-aged men and a 16-year-old girl also received severe injuries as they stepped on the overhead power cable which appeared to have snapped late last night.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital while power department officials have been informed about the damaged cable and repair work is on, he further said.
