External hardware maker for Apple's Macintosh PC, Other World Computing (OWC), is looking to assemble its product in India in less than 3-4 years.
"We focus on upgrading storage and scaling of Mac products. I see a lot of opportunities for our products in India where there are over hundred thousands of Mac installed. We plan to assemble our products here," OWC founder and CEO Larry O'Connor said here.
The company, he said, is looking to address the problem Apple consumers face when it comes to storage and scaling up of their Mac PC.
Asked about timelines for assembly, Connor said: "I can certainly say it would be in place in 3-4 years, but it can be even before. It will depend on how fast market accepts our product here."
The company has a range of external storage and memory upgrade products available at starting price of around Rs 5,500.
"We have seen triple digit growth in India. It is first overseas market for us where we are making direct investment. With the growth and potential that India has, companies that are not here 5 years down the line will regret. We plan to handle Asia-Pacific business from here," Connor said.
