Oyo partners niki.Ai for enhanced customer experience

Online aggregator of branded hotels Oyo has entered into a partnership with technology startup niki.Ai enabling users to search and book Oyo hotels using Niki chat interface.
"Rapid adoption of social and messaging apps has driven user preference for chat based interfaces. This partnership enables Oyo and niki.Ai's users to accomplish the task of searching and booking hotels seamlessly through a chat enabled interface," Oyo Head of Product Anurag Gaggar said.
Niki has developed chat-bot that understands human language contextual to products and services and offers suggestions accordingly, he added. PTI AKT

Western Union to 'light up' remote villages again this Diwali * Global payment services Western Union Company will light up 15 more remote villages across India this Diwali.
In 2015, the company had raised Rs 30 lakh to enable The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to light up 15 villages in the country.

"Through its collaboration with TERI and building on last year's campaign's success, Western Union will make solar-panel powered electricity available to residents in Jharkhand's villages," it said in a release.

* Japanese aircondition maker Daikin has forayed into air purifier segment.
MC70MVM6 Air Purifier has been designed keeping in mind the Indian environment taking into account indoor air pollutants like dust, bad odour, pollens and allergens which cause harm to asthmatic patients.

Half a million phone sold in 3 days: Xiaomi India * Chinese handset vendor Xiaomi has sold more than 500,000 smartphones in less than three days between October 1 and 3 as part of its festive sales in India.
The half a million devices were sold through Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and Tata Cliq along with a small amount coming from offline sale.
"Last year, we sold 0.5 million phones in 30 days. This year, we have sold 0.5 million phones within 3 days," Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain said.
He attributed the growth to a "stronger and wider portfolio" of devices including Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3S, Mi Max and Mi 5 and expanded offline distribution.

Neurosynaptic raises funds from Healthquad, IAN & Axilor * Bengaluru-based health-tech startup Neurosynaptic has raises investment from Healthquad, Indian Angel Network and Axilor Ventures.
The company, which offers high quality remote medical diagnostics delivery solutions, is enabling primary healthcare access with technology for 50 million villagers in 30 districts of the poorest states in India.
The company has raised an undisclosed amount in series A round and Healthquad and IAN representatives will be joining the board of the company, Neurosynaptic said in a statement.

Vodafone, Microsoft partner for Office 365 * Vodafone Business Services has partnered Microsoft as a cloud service partner to offer the latter's Office 365 business suite to enterprises as part of cloud applications portfolio.
The Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite offered on a pay-per-use Software as a Service (SaaS) model works across multiple devices, provides built-in, enterprise-grade security features, tools for teamwork and increased productivity as well as extensive privacy and compliance controls, Vodafone said in a statement.
