Kick-starting his poll campaign in the constituency after worshipping at a local Amman temple, Kannan, who quit Congress and joined AIADMK on February 14, told reporters there would be an integrated development if AIADMK is voted to power.
"Puducherry will witness faster development and all sections of people will be taken care of without exception', he said.
Kannan said the problem of unemployment among youth would be tackled through effective measures.
He recalled how he had taken steps to bring in Goondas Act to ensure law and order and curb the activities of those indulging in unlawful activities while he was Home Minister in the 1990s

AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had recently announced the list of candidates for all 30 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry.

The list contains names of all five legislators who have been re-fielded in their constituencies in the coming polls.
