Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under Union Commerce and Industry Ministry, is holding its annual convocation programme here on November 1 where candidates who have successfully completed its courses will be awarded certificates.
About 450 participants would attend the function to receive the honours and diploma certificates at the hands of Chief Guest Y S Chowdhary, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, an IIP release said here.
IIP is regarded as the largest packaging institute in the world in terms of infrastructural facilities for promotion of education in packaging.
It conducts a host of courses, including a two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) and a three-month full time Certificate Course in Packaging.
Deepak Pathak, Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT, Mumbai will attend the function as Guest of Honour, while Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Director General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will be the Special Guest.
Prof N C Saha, Director, IIP, said "the institute is involved in two activities ie - research and development, training and education in the field of packaging.
