Pailan Arrows sign 11 TFA cadets

Among the 11, the Kolkata-based club signed striker Alwyn George who represented India in the Nehru Cup.

Another Kolkata outfit Mohammadan Sporting and Churchill Brothers, Goa signed agreement with three cadets each and Salgaocar got one cadet from TFA.

Addressing the 9th convocation of TFA, AIFF Director (Teams) Subhankar Mukherjee said 17 members of the present Pailan Arrows team consisted of past and present TFA cadets.

Appreciating Tata Steel for setting up TFA, which has been nurturing young football talents, Mukherjee expressed confidence that the clubs' dependence on foreigners would certainly reduce by the efforts of academies like TFA.

Appreciating the impressive performance of George, Mukherjee said he wanted to join East Bengal "but we pursued him to play for the Pailan Arrows," which had caused upsets of sort by holding I-league champion Dempo in the league stage of the Federation Cup.
