Pakistani security forces today gave a 45-day ultimatum to the tribal people in Kurram Agency to surrender their heavy weapons and warned of strict actions if they failed to do so.
The ultimatum was given by Brigadier Malak Amir Muhammad Khan at a 'jirga' of all the tribes of Kurram Agency.
Brigadier Amir said the tribal people would be compelled to voluntarily hand over all heavy weapons to the government.
Issuing the directions, he said maintaining law and order is the responsibility of the government and terrorists would not be allowed to disturb peace of the area.
