US Defence Secretary James Mattis, during his maiden visit to Pakistan yesterday, asked Islamabad to "redouble" its efforts to confront militants operating from its soil, reaffirming Washington's concern that Islamabad has not done enough to combat terrorism.
"(The) forum also discussed regional and internal security situation with specific reference to Afghanistan," the army said in a statement.
General Bajwa also briefed his commanders about his recent trips to Iran and Saudi Arabia.
They also reviewed the progress in military operation 'Radd-ul-Fasaad' and enhanced security measures along the Afghan border, the statement added.
