"Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the suspected mass terror attack after a lorry ploughed into a busy Christmas market in Berlin, Germany," Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
"On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Germany on the loss of precious human lives in the attack," the statement said.
"Terrorism is our common enemy and the world needs to put up a joint fight against this menace. Pakistan itself has suffered great losses of lives and property by terrorism and would continue to ensure all measures for its eradication," it added.
At least 12 people were killed and 48 others injured, including 18 seriously as the driver mounted the pavement, crushing people and triggering panic, in gory scenes reminiscent of the July 14 Nice attack.
