"This camp organised on the lines of 'Sangat Darshan' programme would revolutionise the healthcare sector of the state by facilitating the poors to avail quality medical facilities under one roof, that too without spending any money," said Badal.
He thanked more than 300 doctors who participated in the camp at his native place here, saying many doctors came all the way from Pakistan to treat people in this camp.
Medical fraternity of both India and Pakistan should frequently visit each other's country for treating the poor people, so as to develop a feeling of belongingness amongst both the countries, said the chief minister.
Recalling his old memories of student life associated with Lahore, Badal said he would cherish to visit the city and relish the mouth watering food of that city.
Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil also lauded step of eminent Pakistani doctors to visit the mega medical camp organised by the state government here for free treatment of the patients.
He said such initiatives would play a pivotal role in further strengthening the ties between India and Pakistan besides promoting mutual co-operation and people-to-people contact.

Addressing gathering after inaugurating the two-day mega medical camp, Patil said frequent visits of the medical fraternity of both the countries would not only upgrade their medical and diagnostic skills, but would also go a long way in providing quality healthcare facilities to the people of the sub continent.
The Governor said though trade could provide a major fillip in heralding a new era of mutual co-operation and trust between India and Pakistan, "but if the doctors across the border visit each other's country to serve the people then it would be a welcome step as a feeling of gratitude would develop amongst the people towards these doctors."
