Pakistan's election body today started accepting nomination papers throughout the country from the candidates who want to contest the July 25 general election.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that the nomination papers from the candidates will be received from June 4 to 8 and then the initial list of candidates will be published.
The scrutiny of the candidates will be conducted until June 14 and appeals against the decision by the ECP will be filed by June 19. The revised list of candidates will be issued on June 27.
The candidates will be able to withdraw their candidature by June 28 after which a final list will be published on the same day. Election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates on June 29.
