A man allegedly threw acid on his estranged wife and one-year-old son after she refused to return to his house in the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province.
Police said Sakina, the wife of Nasir, had shifted to her parents house a couple of months ago after having a quarrel with him over financial matters. Nasir, a labourer by profession, asked her to return but she refused.
"Nasir reached her in-laws' house in Badami Bagh area yesterday and persuaded her to return. When she refused he threw acid on her and their one-year-old child. Sakina's brother and his wife also came under the attack and suffered burns," police officer Imtiaz Sarwar said.
The injured were shifted to the Mayo Hospital where the condition of the child is stated to be critical.
Sarwar said Sakina had filed a divorce suit in a court a few days ago. The police have registered a case under anti- terrorism charges against Nasir and are raiding to arrest him.
