The leader, who is a key pointsman of the ruling party on external affairs, said the Indian position has been clearly conveyed to Pakistan.
He voiced hope that the proposed talks, whose fate remains uncertain following differences over the issue of Pakistan National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz meeting Hurriyat leaders, will be held.
Asked about the "flip-flop" of detaining and releasing Hurriyat leaders yesterday in Srinagar, he said "a message was conveyed to Mufti Sayeed government" after the incident, but chose not to elaborate.
The leader said such issues are "dynamic and progressively evolving" and the country cannot have a static stand.
