Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab province Shahbaz Sharif today visited the CLP-3 Super Thermal Plant in Jharli village, about 40-km from here.
During his visit, the minister visited the turbine houses, control room, switch guard and cooling station and gathered information about techniques adopted in the power production of the plant.
Expressing satisfaction over the plant's coal-based power-generation system, Shahbaz, younger brother of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, told officials that a similar plant was being set up in his province in Pakistan, sources said.
The plant officials also organised a visual presentation on various features of the plant, its functioning and construction, sources said.
Shahbaz, arrived yesterday on the invitation of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to witness the World Kabaddi final scheduled to be played at Ludhiana on Saturday.
