Pak SC takes suo moto notice of mob attack on Christian colony

Pakistan's Supreme Court today took suo moto notice of the attack by a mob on a Christian neighbourhood in Lahore after a Christian man was accused of committing blasphemy.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry had taken notice of the attack on Joseph Colony yesterday, officials said.
The apex court summoned the Punjab Police chief and the provincial Advocate General tomorrow and directed them to submit a report on the incident.
About 160 homes and two small churches in the Christian neighbourhood were ransacked and torched by a mob yesterday after a Christian sanitation worker was accused of blasphemy.
Hundreds of Christians were left homeless by the attack.
