"As per inputs, Pakistan troops have been vacating their border hamlets close to IB which are opposite to our areas in Jammu district," the officer told PTI.
The move comes in the wake of recent exchange of firing and mortar shelling between Pakistani Rangers and BSF troops.
A youth was killed and two others were injured, including a BSF jawan, when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by resorting to firing and mortar shelling on border out posts and hamlets along the IB in Jammu district today.
With today's ceasefire violations, there have been 8 ceasefire violations by Pakistani rangers in August.
