Pakistan condemns California mass shooting

Pakistan today condemned the mass shooting in California, said to have been carried out by a Pakistani-origin couple that killed 14 people.
"The loss of precious lives in the tragic incident is irreversible and we condemn this abhorrent act of violence in strongest possible terms.
It is hoped that the investigations would lead the authorities to bring the perpetrators of this act to justice sooner," the Pakistani Embassy said in a statement.
US investigators suspect that a Pakistani-origin couple were behind the attack, the motive of which is not known yet.
While the husband Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, was of Pakistani origin whose parents migrated from Pakistan, wife Tashfeen Mailk, 27, was a Pakistani national.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC conveyed its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of San Bernardino shooting incident.

The Pakistani American community, following the tragic incident, are fearing backlash.
"The Pakistani-American community, in general, and the community organizations, in particular, join the Embassy in condemning the horrific act and share the grief and sorrow of the victims and their families," the statement said.
The Embassy acknowledged the community's role in the United States as being "law-abiding, peaceful and responsible" and appreciated them for expressing their solidarity with the families and friends of the victims of this tragedy.
