The Foreign Office said that November 27-29 summit was important as the programme includes two retreat sessions that would discuss violent extremism and radicalism, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and migration.
A special session will be dedicated to climate change, which will issue the leaders' statement on climate action.
The leaders will also elect the new Secretary General of CHOGM for the next four year term.
Sharif will also attend a Banquet hosted by the British Queen and another banquet by the Prime Minister of Malta.
CHOGM is held after every two years and its theme for this year's meeting is 'Adding Global Value'.
Pakistan is one of the eight founding members of the Commonwealth.
