Pakistan today successfully test fired Hatf IX (Nasr) missile, a short range surface to surface missile that has a range of 60-kilometres.
The test fire was conducted with successive launches of 4 x missiles (Salvo) from a state of the art multi tube launcher, the military said.
Nasr, with in-flight manoeuvre capability, is a quick response system equipped with shoot and scoot attributes, it said in a statement.
Army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and other top army commanders witnessed the launch. Gen Kayani said the test consolidates Pakistan's deterrence capability.
