An official source in the PCB told PTI that it was unlikely the new chairman of the Board, Najam Sethi would go for any changes in the captaincy of the national ODI and T20 squads for the West Indies tour despite calls for changes after the team's poor performance in the ICC Champions Trophy.
"The time is short before the team leaves for the West Indies on July 7 and Sethi needs more time to settle down and grasp the internal affairs of the Board," the source said.
"The selectors have been told to have fitness tests of a group of players and then finalise the touring squad which will be sent to Sethi in London for final approval," the source said.
He said the players included young basmen, Haris Sohail and Sohaib Maqsood and others.

"The group does not include seniors Shahid Afridi or Younis Khan."
The source said that the selectors have decided to sideline Shoaib Malik, Imran Fahrat and Kamran Akmal for the West Indies tour.
"That is decided but they have to see who will be their ideal replacements," he added.
