Chief Metropolitan Magistrate also convicted and sentenced two Indians, including a woman, to four years in jail yesterday for helping the foreign national in carrying out espionage activities.
All of them were convicted under Official Secrets Act- 1923.
The Pakistani national, Jahid Ali, was arrested in 2005 for espionage in Jodhpur. He was caught sending information related with defence installations and others to Pakistan-based his handlers.
After his interrogation, two locals of Jodhpur-- Mohammad Ali and Ritu Chaudhary-- were also arrested for helping him in getting accommodation and other facilities in Jodhpur.
While Jahid was already in judicial custody, Ali and Chaudhary were sent to the jail after the judgement, according to a release by police.
