Pakistani star to play in US-based United Soccer League

Pakistan football has got a major boost with their star forward Kaleemullah Khan being signed up by the Tulsa Roughnecks for the United Soccer League (USL).
Kaleemullah, who set a new trend two years back when he was signed up as a professional to play in the Kyrgyzstan soccer league, has been one of Pakistan footballs brightest stars in the last two years.
The former Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) striker scored 18 goals to lead FC Dordoi to Kyrgyz League crown while adding four more goals as the Bishkek giants claimed the Kyrgyz Super Cup.
He also won the best player of the year award in the Kyrgyzstan soccer league and was paid ten million Pakistani rupees for a two-year extension to his contract last year.
Kaleemullah who hails from the small town of Chaman in the troubled Baluchistan province said in a message he was humbled to be signed on for the US league.
"I am extremely humbled by the opportunity that has been given to me and my own game has improved by playing in the US.

"I am a quick learner and I have learnt a lot about American style of play so I am sure I will be in a stronger position to play well for my new team," he said.
Kaleemullah's deal was made possible by Kora Stars Sports Agency, a California-based sports management firm which has a regional office in Islamabad.
My agent Adel Saad has always pushed me to continue improving as a player and I know for sure that this new journey is going to be a great one for me.
All this would not have been possible without him, Kaleemullah said.
In 94 appearances in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) Kaleemullah has scored 72 goals and set a PPL record by scoring 31 goals in 2012-13 season and he also four league titles during his five seasons with KRL.
Kaleemullah has also made 25 appearances for the national team.
