Prices of palmolein and mustard oils firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today following upsurge in demand from retailers coupled with restricted supplies from producing belts.
Linseed oil, in the non-edible section, also showed some strength on increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said besides pick-up in demand from retailers, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up palmolein and mustard oil prices.
In the national capital, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,250 and Rs 6,300 per quintal, respectively.
Mustard expeller (Dadri) oil also went up by Rs 100 to Rs 8,800 per quintal.
Among non-edible oils, linseed found scattered buying support from consuming industries and edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 9,700 per quintal.
