Palmolein oil prices inched up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, largely on firm global cues.
However, castor oil in the non-edible section, eased on reduced offtake by consuming industries.
Marketmen attributed the rise in palmolein oil prices to a firm trend overseas.
Meanwhile, the benchmark palm oil for April delivery surged 1.2 per cent to 2,543 ringgit (USD 645.92) a tonne on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
In the national capital, palmolein (RBD) and palmolein (Kandla) oils were trading up by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,400 and Rs 6,450 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, castor oil in the non-edible section, slipped by Rs 200 to Rs 8,000-8,100 per quintal.
