An independent gram panchayat candidate in Nadia district today alleged that Trinamool Congress supporters cast false votes during counting.
The candidate Niladri Sukul, who had contested the rural poll from Shibnibas gram panchayat under Krishnaganj block in the distric,t alleged that Trinamool Congress supporters had also attacked him since he was leading by 220 votes.
"While one group beat me up, the other group of TMC supporters entered the counting centre and started stamping the ballot papers that were already counted," he alleged.
"We have received a complaint and are looking into it," Nadia district magistrate Sumit Gupta said.
