Two motorcycle-borne robbers waylaid North Alam Nagar panchayat secretary Mahanand Yadav near a medicine shop and snatched a bag containing the cash from him, the sources said.
Yadav was carrying the cash from the block office for distribution of pension to the aged people under North Alam Nagar panchayat, they said.
A case has been registered in this connection and raids were being carried to nab the robbers, the sources added.
