Pandurangaiah beats Girish in All-India snooker

Top-seed Pandurangaiah of Railways edged out R Girish 4-3 to enter the quarter-finals of the R Murugesh and Chintamani Memorial All-India Snooker tournament at Erode today.
Fancied Kamal Chawla of Madhya Pradesh registered an easy 4-1 win over Abhimanyu Gandhi to reach the last eight.
Later, he cruised past Chennai youngster S Shri Krishna by the same margin to enter the semi-finals.
In the other round of pre-quarter matches, Dilip Kumar of Southern Railway beat B Sisodiya 4-2 while Chennai cueist Varun Kumar edged past Ashutosh Padhy by the same scoreline.
Other players to make it to the last eight were Laxman Rawat who got the better of Balaji Reddy 4-3 and Ketan Chawla who knocked out Nitesh Madan 4-2.
