Panel to seek suggestions to build Haryana a cashless state

A Committee of Administrative Secretaries has been formed which would seek suggestions from all departments to build Haryana a cashless state, state Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said today.
"All receipts and payments in the government will be made totally cashless and this practice should also be promoted in the society," he said.
With a view to promote cashless system and to acquaint government officials in digital banking, he said that a committee headed by Administrative Secretary has also been constituted for their training.
The committee would prepare entire schedule of training about digital banking and online transactions and execute accordingly.

"Demo of cashless transaction on mobile would also be a part of training," he added.
Abhimanyu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the people to make all transactions cashless and adopt online and other mode of e-banking for payments.

"Haryana will be developed as cashless state," he said.
The Minister also sought cooperation from all people in adopting cashless transaction in the interest of the nation.
Abhimanyu said it has been requested to the Central Government to bring down the charges of online mode of payments at minimum level.
At the same time, he pointed out, "it is a set principle that quantum of such charges will be reduced according to the rise in cashless transactions."

On being asked to comment on the time-frame of implementation of complete cashless transactions in the government system, Abhimanyu told reporters that departments concerned have been directed to immediately make big transactions cashless.
"This work is going at a very fast pace," he said.
Similarly, he said that e-payments facilities are being promoted for making petty payments in government departments.
"I have complete faith in capacity of Haryana's people and hope that they will soon adopt cashless system of payments," he said.
When he was asked to comment on impact of demonetization of notes of high denominations on revenue, he said that there is no fall in registration of properties in various tehsils in the state.

"The situation of cash is being eased out. As per the feedback, cash crunch is not visible as such. The objective is to promote any mode of financial transaction other than cash," he added.
Earlier, while addressing Administrative Secretaries in a meeting, Abhimanyu asked them to make wide publicity of cashless mode of transactions through advertisements, radio jingles and on social networks like WhatsApp.
