"The Committee are happy to observe the earnest efforts made by the Ministry of Coal consequent to the Supreme Court judgement cancelling allocation of 204 coal blocks out of the 218 blocks allocated since 1993 with the enactment of Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015," the Standing Committee on Coal and Steel said in report tabled in Parliament today.
"The Committee, therefore, put on record their appreciation for the endeavours made by the Ministry of Coal in this regard with the reported estimated amount of revenue likely to be raised in respect of 33 coal blocks already auctioned standing at Rs 2,09,740.25 crore," it said.
