"India is in spotlight when it comes to fashion. In Paraguay India means fashion. They find Indian fashion very trendy," the model, who is in Goa to walk the ramp for collection of designer Rocky S at India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) 2012, told PTI.
Leryn said Indians must be really proud of their fashion culture as it is different, vibrant and mystic.
"There is a very strong energy that invites you here," she said and termed the Indian models as "beautiful."
The model also praised the clothes showcased during the event.
Leryn, who won the Miss Paraguay title in 2006, participated in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics representing her country in Javelin throw.
She equates fashion to the sports claiming that both require concentration and healthy body.

"I chose sports but modeling chose me. I really like to do modeling. It's different from the sports but the same. You need concentration for both. You need to be healthy for both, from inside and outside. For me beauty is not only about the body," she said.
Leryn came across designer Rocky S through the internet and later exchanged several emails before descending in Goa as his model.
"I never met him before coming to India. Finally I met him yesterday," she said.
Leryn, who has come to India for the first time, said, "I am very excited and happy."
