Parents, cousins of gangster booked

The Punjab police today said it has booked former police inspector and his wife for allegedly providing shelter to their son, who is a "dreaded" gangster.
Bhupinder Singh, former police inspector, who is a father of gangster Jaipal Singh, along with his wife Amarjit Kaur, residents of Ferozepur, have been booked, they said.
Jaipal's two cousins -- Gurbinder Singh alias Rocky of Gurdaspur and Ranjit Singh of Tarn Taran -- were also booked under relevant sections of IPC for allegedly providing shelter to Jaipal who is wanted by the police in several cases of murder, extortion, kidnapping among others.
SSP, Ferozepur, Gaurav Garg said the police received an information that Jaipal's parents and his cousins had provided him shelter on several occasions.
Police carried out raids to arrest these family members, but none of them has been nabbed so far, he said.
