Parents of minor girl sentenced to 10, 7 years RI

A court here today sentenced the father of a minor girl from Paravoor, who was raped by several persons over a period of time, to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 40,000 fine and the mother to 7 years RI and Rs 20,000 as fine in the case.
The judgement in this regard was delivered by the Additional sessions court here.
The girl's father, Sudheer, who had connections with the film industry, had borrowed some money from the third accused, Rajashekaran Nair, who retired as driver in the navy, and in turn allowed Nair to rape his minor daughter in their home in 2011.

Nair recently committed suicide following which the case against him has been abated.
This is the first time the victim's mother, Subaida, has been sentenced by the court. Though she pleaded for leniency, the court did not consider the same.
This is the fourth judgement in the case. The girl had complained that her father had taken her to different places where 100 odd men had raped her.
