Parents stage protest against school fee hike in Ghaziabad

Scores of infuriated parents today staged a protest here against 25 per cent hike in fees of private schools.
They handed over a memorandum addressed to district magistrate to take action against the owners of private schools. The protest was led by Shiksha Bachao Abhiyan Samiti (SBAS) and All Schools Parents Association (ASPA).
Addressing the gathering SBAS convener Satyapal Singh said that school managements are increasing the fees every year and it has become difficult for parents to provide education to their children.
He warned that in case the administration does not rein in school managements SBAS along with ASPA will hold strong agitation.
On the other hand parents launched hunger strike on the main gate of DPSG public school in Vasundhra colony for opposing the exorbitant fees for ensuing year.
District magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani said a committee has been constituted under ADM (Finance & revenue) Rajesh Kumar Singh, district inspector of schools and Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) will call the owners of schools to resolve the problem and if they do not comply, NOC letters will be issued to CBSE to cancel their affiliations.
