'Oh My God', starring Paresh and Akshay, is based on Umesh Shukla's Gujarati play 'Kanji Viruddh Kanji'. The critically and commercially acclaimed play was adapted in Hindi as 'Krishna vs Kanhaiya', in which Rawal had acted.

The film tells the story of an atheist who incurs huge losses when his antique shop is destroyed by an earthquake.

"Yes, we are working on a sequel," Paresh said in an interview here.

As the film has been adapted from a play, the makers have made quite a few changes to make it more appealing.

"The screenplay changes a bit as now we are telling the story in feature film format. More or less the scenes are same but the interpretation is different for the film, the dialogues are different. Those who have seen the play are familiar with the story but the film has some surprises to throw," Rawal said.

"The story remains same but the interpretation is different. There are quite a few surprises in the film. But we cannot reveal them otherwise the audience will not enjoy it," he said.

Infact, it was director Umesh Shukla's idea to convert the play into a film and they thought of Akshay Kumar to play the role of Lord Krishna.

"Umesh told me a film can be made from this play. Then we met Akshay and he agreed and came on board. Right from the word go we had Akshay only in mind to play the role of Lord Krishna. He saw the play and loved it," Rawal said.

'Oh My God', co-produced by Ashvini Yardi, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, is set to release on September 28.
