"InterContinental Hotels Group today announced the signing of the 286-room Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park with Adyar Gate Hotels Ltd," a company statement said.
The hotel, which IHG is now managing, will be rechristened Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park, marking the entry of Crowne Plaza brand into Chennai.
"It's with great pleasure that we are working together with Adyar Gate Hotels Ltd to launch our Crowne Plaza brand here to cater to the increasing number of business and leisure travellers," IHG Head of South West Asia, Shantha de Silva said.
"IHG has a strong reputation as a hotel operator and we are pleased to be working with them to open Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park in Chennai," Adyar Gate Hotels Joint Managing Director Manish Goyal said.

Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park joins Holiday Inn Express Chennai Mahindra World City, making it the second IHG Hotel in Chennai.
It has 47 hotels in the pipeline, including Holiday Inn Express Chennai OMR and Holiday Inn Chennai OMR Tidel Park, to be unveiled in Chennai within the next 3-5 years, it said.
