"I was associated with the state administration for 25 years and for the last 20 years I have been in the Parliament. But I would say that the way the legislators in Maharashtra observe decorum of the House in the state legislature that cannot be seen in Parliament," Pawar said.
He was speaking after releasing a book on former Maharashtra Chief Minister and his mentor Yashwantrao Chavan, penned by senior journalist Madhukar Bhave.
Sharing anecdotes of the late leader, Pawar elaborated on how Chavan played a decisive role in strengthening India's defence system.
"Chavan was called by then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to take reins of the Defence Ministry. The day Chavan took charge of the ministry, China called off war against India. Although India had to face a humiliating defeat from China, Chavan later strengthened the defence system which helped India to defeat Pakistan," Pawar said.
