Parliament security gets new chief

Senior IPS officer Yogesh Deshmukh today took over as the chief of Parliament security here.
Deshmukh, a 1995-batch police officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, was serving in the Railway Ministry as Director (Vigilance).
Now, he will supervise the entire security apparatus of the Parliament complex comprising-- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
The post of JS (security) in the Lok Sabha Secretariat is officiated by an Inspector General-rank officer and its tasks include looking after the Parliament Security Service, coordinating with the Joint Parliamentary Committee on security and overall control of CRPF's Parliament Duty Group and the Delhi Police which are tasked with the security of the complex.
A meeting of all the stakeholders was also held during which security arrangements were fine tuned for the second round of the budget session starting on April 25.
