Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar discussed the issue of resumption of iron ore mining in the state with MLAs of the ruling BJP here Saturday.
The meeting was held at Parrikar's private residence where he is recuperating after undergoing treatment for a pancreatic aliment.
Nine out of 13 BJP legislators in the state attended the meeting.
"The highlight was discussion on the mining issue. It was decided that the moment the election process in three states gets over, state unit of the party will ask BJP high command to act fast and see to it that some solution is worked out to restart the mining industry," Panchayat Minister and BJP MLA Mauvin Godinho told reporters afterwards.
BJP Goa unit chief Vinay Tendulkar also attended the meeting which went on for one and a half hours.
The mining industry in the state has come to a standstill since March after the Supreme Court quashed 88 mining leases for irregularities in their renewal.
Godinho said the chief minister also discussed development works in all the constituencies.
